Native plants are the best landscape plants for your landscaping project. There is really no way to get around that fact. Natives require less water, fewer nutrients, and fewer pesticides than exotic plants, and they won’t eat the forest!

Many of the last centuries favorite exotics are now making their way onto the states “noxious weed” and “prohibited exotic species” lists. You can see Chinese Tallow, China Berry, Japanese Silk Tree, and Asian Privet to name just a few, gradually taking over our countryside, and destroying native plants as they go.

Many of our Tyler Nurseries have great native plants that will be better choices than some exotic that just doesn’t look at home here anyway! They will be happy to help you out.

Attention local nursery owners: We would like to find out just what native plants you carry in stock, and would especially like to know of any nurseries specializing in native plants. We will be more than happy to let our readers know where they can go to find native nursery stock.
